(…or…How $100 Pair of Yoga Pants Transformed My Life and Are Worth Every Penny!)
I’ve taken on a new commitment in my life, as I shared in my previous post Not So Great Expectations: A Lesson in Living into a Deeper Level of Faith, and with this I’m committed to expanding my prosperity consciousness. Since you already know that faith without works is dead, I’ve taken on a few new games in order to demonstrate my faith, and simultaneously manifest more prosperity. If any of these speak to you, regardless if they say “Yes! I’m so doing this one,” or “Not a chance, you fruit loop,” consider taking them on as a game that could radically transform your life as well or simply as a challenge to prove to yourself that you already know what life’s all about.
The first game I started playing to manifest more prosperity I took on to assist me in purging some non-serving items from my life. I have a closest full of clothes of which I only wear a small portion, items I collected in childhood that I keep boxed up in my storage closest, and a sneaky suspension that part of the reason I’m hesitant to let go of many of these items is a fear of not having in the future, which is rooted in a lack mentality, and a contributing creator to my reality. I got the idea for this game from this great minimalist blogsite (http://www.theminimalists.com/game/) and it’s a fairly simple concept. Basically, you find a partner to take the challenge on with you, or you could find someone who’s willing to hold you accountable to following through each day, and you release one item on day 1, two items on day 2, three items on day 3, four on day 4, and so on. Continue this for as long as you can and see who can continue it the longest, aiming for 30 days. This game meets one of my core values by being a win-win-win. The playing of it allows for me to allow items that no longer serve me to bless the lives of others, signals to the universe that I’m a good steward of all that I am given, and creates space in my life for its equal or something better. I’ll keep you posted on my progress with this game, along with the others, as I can already sense that many more profound experiences will follow the ones I’ve already experienced already by adopting these games. In my 30 days, I purged a total of 455 items I previously struggled to release in prior attempts, and actually felt like I was gaining instead of the loss my previous mindset triggered.
The second game I’m playing to manifest more prosperity is to make decisions based on what the investment being in alignment with my core values and a reflection of my value verses deciding solely based on what something costs. This game allows me to exercise my belief that I will always be provided for when I trust myself to make wise investments and make decisions based on what honors the highest good of all verses what I fear I may not have in the future. Again, I quickly realized I was conditioned to make decisions based on what is cheapest for a number of reasons, and I am discovering how it drives a large portion of my decision making.
I immediately began to reap the benefits of this game as life instantly responded to my playing with a new level of faith and ownership in my decision making. In fact, the very first time I played this game I got exactly what I wanted and more for less than if I had taken my old route of cost thriftiness over true desires. The power of this game came into full effect recently when I attended an in-home party for a fabulous clothing line which runs around 10 times what I typically invest in clothing. Playing this game allowed me to stay open, overlook the associated pricing and solely focus on what my heart said verses what my mind said. By doing this, I found the only thing that would stop me from saying yes would be fear that life would not back up my desire with what is required for me to have it, therefore my only option would be to say yes to the investment into myself.
This single decision opened the flood gates of realization to the power we unlock in our lives when we say yes to ourselves and know like we know like we know that we will be provided for. I didn’t spend $100 on a pair of pants, I invested in who I am and know myself to be, I invested in supporting a fellow mompreneur in providing a service that I now see as invaluable, and I once saw as an unnecessary extravagance due to my prior conditioning and limited thinking. Why shouldn’t providers of premium products receive anything less than premium returns? And why shouldn’t an amazing person like yourself invest in anything less than something that allows for an amazing experience in life? Even if it’s the experience of feeling a pair of high-quality yoga pants against your skin, or how you feel about yourself knowing you view yourself as worthy of receiving a luxurious experience.
This sets up the third and final game I’d like to share with you to manifest more prosperity, and out of all three of these financially fearless games, this one is one anyone, anywhere can practice at any time, no matter what the circumstances. All you need is a desire to heal your relationship with money. This one game has had a huge impact on my life, how I view myself, how I experience finances, and basically how I experience life in general. I took on the practice of feeling rich.
So simple, yet so powerful.
How you feel is your first manifestation in creating what you desire. If looking at your bank account does not make you feel rich, begin to look for what does. What experiences in your life make you feel full to overflowing? Where and when do you feel expansive and complete? What makes you feel rich? I began to notice moments of richness in my life: time with my daughter, connecting with my husband, serving my clients, soaking in nature, and yes, feeling the smooth, soft, silky, second-skin quality of one-hundred dollar yoga pants caressing my body, reminding me with each movement my value, how I recognized it, and how I said yes, yes to myself, and yes to receiving, signaling to the universe I am ready to receive more.
